Always thought extra packaging was a waste, but a smashed order last week proved me wrong.

Totally feel you on the smashed order thing. I started double boxing anything glass or ceramic, like putting the product box inside a slightly bigger one with crumpled paper in between. For corners, those little foam bumpers are a lifesaver. If it’s something that can leak, a sealed plastic bag inside the box saves everything else from getting ruined.

Crumpled paper failed me so bad, my vase became a puzzle. Now I overstuff with foam like my life depends on it.

Why go all out with foam when simple padding usually does the job?

That trick with crumpled paper between boxes is smart, but it can settle during shipping. I learned that foam peanuts or those air pillows are way better for stuffing because they don't just flatten out over a bumpy trip. Paper is okay, but it doesn't hold its shape like the purpose-made stuff.
