The $130 flower cooler rental I could've skipped completely

Rented a refrigerated unit for a July wedding thinking my garage setup wouldn't cut it. Turns out the venue had a walk-in they never mentioned, and my blooms were fine in buckets with ice packs for 5 hours. Anyone else overthink cooling and end up paying for nothing?

Right? I did the exact same thing last summer, booked a chiller for a backyard party and the flowers were PERFECT sitting in a shaded shed with frozen water bottles. Total waste of cash, but at least we both learned the hard way!

and honestly you got lucky with the weather. A July wedding is a gamble and ice packs in buckets only works if the venue is air conditioned and your truck doesnt overheat on the drive. Last year my cousin did the same thing, skipped the cooler, and her peonies were mush by the time the ceremony started because the sun hit the loading dock all afternoon. The venue walk-in being a surprise is on them for not telling you, but thats not a reason to count on it next time. You paid for peace of mind and a backup plan, that $130 is cheap insurance when a bride is crying over wilted roses. Plus you can resell the rental or write it off, so really you lost nothing.
