Bought a cheap respirator for grinding and it failed in under a month
Spent about $35 on a basic cartridge respirator from the local supply house because I was tired of the dust. The straps snapped during a big cleanup job yesterday, leaving me coughing for hours. What's a reliable brand that won't fall apart on you?

Honestly, what were the straps even made of, paper? Tbh I had a similar thing happen with a cheap pair of safety glasses that just cracked down the middle for no reason. Makes you wonder if some of this stuff is just meant to pass a quick look from a manager. You might be better off checking what the actual tradespeople use on long jobs, not the stuff on the shelf next to the paint cans.

Right? Saw a post where a guy said the cheap straps are basically just for show. Real gear costs more but doesn't fall apart.

My last pair of safety glasses lasted about as long as a grocery bag in the rain (maybe two weeks). I clearly don't learn.
