Rant: my 3 year old safety glasses finally gave out on a Tuesday pour
Was running a 2000 degree ductile iron pour last week when the lens just cracked for no reason, and my foreman laughed and said "those were due for retirement anyway," so now I'm wondering if anyone else here sets a reminder to swap PPE before it fails on the job, or do you all just run it until it breaks too?

Wait, the lens just cracked out of nowhere on a 2000 degree pour and your foreman laughed about it? That's not "due for retirement," that's a ticking time bomb next to your eyeball, dude.
