Spent 4 HOURS yesterday trying to get a core box to release cleanly from a simple drag flask. The dang thing was just STUCK. Finally got it with a heat gun and a prayer.

Saw a tip online about dusting the flask with talc or graphite powder before packing the sand. Supposed to act like a release agent. Might be worth a shot for next time, sounds cheaper than a heat gun.

Talc works great for that! I've used baby powder in a pinch and it made the sand fall right out. Definitely beats buying more tools.
