I thought cold emailing was dead but I just landed a $600 gig from one

For like 2 years I figured cold emails just got deleted instantly. I barely bothered with them because everyone says nobody reads them anymore. But last month I sent out maybe 15 super short ones to local businesses in my area, just offering to do their social media graphics. One guy actually replied and now I'm making $600 a month just doing 4 posts a week for his BBQ joint. What finally made you change your mind about something you were sure was a waste of time?

HOLD UP, $600 a month from just 15 emails? That's actually INSANE. I always figured cold email was a complete scam because nobody clicks on anything anymore. The fact that you offered to do social media graphics for a BBQ joint and they actually replied makes me think I've been sleeping on this whole time. I've deleted so many emails from people trying to sell me stuff that I just assumed everyone does the same. Maybe the trick is to keep it super short and local like you did instead of blasting generic garbage. You basically proved everyone who said cold email is dead wrong.

@jesse_smith10 you're spot on about keeping it local and short. The real trick nobody talks about is that cold email works best when you offer something boring that they actually need instead of trying to sell them on a flashy idea.

you basically proved everyone who said cold email is dead wrong" - @the_sage already had the right idea though, didn't even need to prove anything since it's more about who you're emailing than the platform itself.
