That one Wednesday in October when I invoiced $600 and then nothing for 2 weeks
Honestly, it was like the universe flipped a switch. I landed a $600 project on a Tuesday, wrapped it by Wednesday morning, and then my inbox went totally silent for 14 days. No replies, no new leads, nothing. I spent that time deep cleaning my office just to feel like I was doing something. Has anyone else had a week where everything hits at once, then a total drought right after?

Ngl, my buddy Mark went through something similar last spring. He landed a single $1200 design project on a Monday, finished it by Thursday, and then his inbox went dead for like 18 days. He ended up honestly spending a full Saturday reorganizing his garage by tool size, not even type, just size. Said he almost cried when he started numbering his paint cans by shade. It's funny how your brain just latches onto any task when the work stops.

The exact same thing happened to me last fall. I had a huge week where I landed three projects back to back, then crickets for almost three weeks. It's freaky how the work just dries up like someone turned off a faucet. I ended up reorganizing my entire bookshelf alphabetically by author just to feel productive.

Used to think the feast or famine thing was just people not managing their time well, but then I went through it myself last year. Had a solid month of nonstop work, then absolutely nothing for two and a half weeks. Ended up alphabetizing my spice rack by color just to trick myself into feeling useful. It's wild how your brain starts doing random organizing tasks when there's no work coming in. Totally changed my view on how real this pattern is for freelancers.
