A friend in Phoenix pointed out my virtual tour links were too long for flyers.
They said people just wouldn't type them in, so I started using a simple link shortener for every property. Now my QR code scans are way up. What's a small change you made that got a big result?

Ever notice how people just won't do the simplest extra step? I used to list my business phone number with the area code in parentheses, like everyone did back in the day. Switched it to just the ten straight digits and got more calls almost right away. Something about those two extra characters made people not want to dial it.

Read a study once about how tiny bits of friction kill action. Like a form asking for a zip code when it's not needed, people just bail. Your parentheses are the same thing. They make the brain pause for a split second to parse the number. That pause is enough for someone to think "I'll call later" and then forget. Straight digits are just go, no extra step.

Honestly I doubt it was the parentheses. Most phones auto format numbers anyway. Could be your listing just got more visible around the same time you changed it. People are lazy but not usually about two tiny symbols.

You know, that bit about people being lazy but not about two tiny symbols... I actually see it the opposite way. It's the tiny things that trip people up the most. If a link looks long or messy, it feels like work before you even start. A short link is just one less little speed bump in their way. It's not about being lazy, it's about making the path totally clear.
