My laptop battery died right before a big video call in a library
I was at the main branch of the public library in Springfield, trying to look professional for a new client meeting. My laptop was at 5% and I forgot my charger. The call started, my screen went black, and I had to explain the whole thing from my phone. I now keep a spare charger in my bag at all times. Anyone else have a go-to backup plan for power issues?

Look professional" for a video call is a bit much, in my experience. It's just a call.

Just a call" until you're the only one in a t-shirt with a cat filter stuck on your face.

What if your boss is on the call?

Totally agree with "it's just a call." I once joined what I thought was a quick team check-in, only to find the CEO had been silently waiting on the line for ten minutes. I was in my rattiest hoodie, and my background was a total disaster zone. The panic is so real. It feels like the professional version of a jump scare. Now I'm paranoid and treat every single calendar link like a potential trap.
