I swore by PVA glue for years until a rainy week in Portland changed my mind

I was rebinding a 1920s poetry collection for a client and the humidity made the PVA take forever to set... it was a mess. An older binder at the local shop, Maria, convinced me to try wheat paste for the spine lining. The flexibility it gave the text block was a total game changer for that old, brittle paper. Anyone else switch adhesives for specific projects like that?

Finally figured out how to get my 8-year-old nephew into comics after he said they were 'boring books'

He was totally turned off by the big, dense collections. I grabbed a single issue of Miles Morales Spider-Man from my local shop, read it with him, and pointed out all the cool art and sound effects. He spent the next hour just looking at the pictures and asking questions. What's a good single issue or short series you've used to hook someone new?

Appreciation post: Plant-based degreasers are a game changer for cleanup

I was helping a friend at the small airport over the weekend and saw the mechanics using this new cleaner. They said it's made from citrus and works just as well on grease but doesn't need special disposal. It cuts down on hazardous waste bins, which saves money and helps the environment. Stuff like that makes me happy to see our trade adopting greener practices. Has anyone else tried similar swaps in their shop?
