My second monitor gave up right before a big deadline
It just went black yesterday afternoon while I was trying to finish a video edit. I had to run out and buy a cheap $150 replacement from the store down the street just to get the project out. What's your backup plan when a key piece of gear suddenly dies?

Wait, you actually spent $150 on a new monitor right before the deadline? That's some serious panic buying. I would have just squinted at my laptop for twelve hours straight. My backup plan is just a lot of swearing and then checking if the cable fell out for the tenth time.

Been there. I keep an old monitor in the closet for emergencies. It's not great, but it gets the job done when something breaks.
