Looking back, that $300 I spent on a proper accounting software in 2019 saved me from a massive tax headache.
I was still using spreadsheets and a shoebox for receipts, and the software basically did all the quarterly estimates and expense tracking for me, so has anyone else found a tool that finally clicked for them?

Remember when my car's check engine light came on and I just put a piece of tape over it for a year? That was my system for tracking freelance work before I caved and got a real app. I had notes on napkins, invoices scribbled on the back of grocery receipts, it was a disaster. The app felt like paying for a tow truck after trying to push the car myself for miles.

Watched my buddy finally switch from a messy notebook to a simple time tracker app last year. He said it was like someone finally turned the lights on in his home office.
