Spent $500 on a coworking space in Lisbon and it was a total waste

I moved here last month and signed up for a month at a spot called 'The Hive' thinking it would help me meet people and get work done. The wifi was super slow (like, couldn't even load a Google Doc slow) and it was mostly empty, so no networking happened. Has anyone found a good, reliable spot in Lisbon that's actually worth the money?

Ugh, that's the worst! I had the same thing happen at a place in Santos. My big lesson was to never pay for a full month upfront. Always do a day pass first to test the wifi and see the crowd. For a reliable spot, I've had good luck with Second Home near Time Out Market. The internet is solid and it's usually pretty busy, so you might actually meet someone.

Second Home saved me last month when my usual spot was closed for repairs. I mean, their wifi is actually fast enough for video calls, which is rare. I got stuck at a place in Principe Real once that looked cool online but had maybe three people and spotty internet all week. Your day pass idea is smart, I'm definitely doing that from now on.

Remember Second Home gets packed around lunch. Try going mid-morning if you want a seat. The crowd is more steady then anyway.
