The pegboard I banged together in 20 minutes took me 4 hours to reorganize last weekend
I thought I was being smart just hammering up a standard 4x8 pegboard in my garage without measuring the tools I actually had. Now I've got my wrenches jammed against a shelf bracket and my drill bits are three feet from the workbench. Did anyone else spend way longer fixing a quick storage setup than they did building it in the first place?

Totally feel your pain on this one. I did the same thing with my garage shelf setup, hammered it up in like fifteen minutes thinking I was a genius and then spent two days rearranging everything because I put the shelf brackets too low for my bigger tools. @sethm58 is right to ask about measuring, but honestly even when I do measure I still end up messing it up because my drill bits always end up teleporting to the exact wrong spot. The worst part is staring at your workspace thinking 'this is fine' until you actually try using it, then realizing you gotta take down half the stuff to get at the screwdriver you need. It's like a puzzle you didn't ask to solve.

Wait, did you put up the pegboard without any backing or furring strips behind it? Thats gonna be a pain if you ever want to move stuff around because the hooks will just tear up the drywall. I learned that the hard way when I tried to hang a heavy socket set and it pulled the whole thing off the wall. Honestly, though, the whole measuring vs building time thing is such a trap. I spent a whole Saturday once making a pegboard layout on graph paper, then still had to redo it twice because I forgot my tape measure was broken.
