PSA: Pre-shift stretches went from joke to job saver for me

I always laughed them off until I saw a vet operator tweak his knee from a cold start. Now I do a quick leg and back routine, and I haven't felt this good in years.

How long did it take you to actually start doing them? I was the same, thought it was all pointless. Watching a guy on my crew throw out his back just bending over changed my mind fast. Now I do a few minutes of arm circles and squats. Makes the whole first hour way easier. My body just works better when it's warmed up.

Pre-shift stretches are legit helpful once you commit to them. I had a similar wake-up call when I almost pulled something lifting a box cold. Now I never skip them, and my back thanks me, lmao.

That vet's tip saved my knees last winter too.

Honestly, copying that vet's leg swings and torso twists made a huge difference. I spend five minutes on hamstring stretches and lower back rotations now, and the morning stiffness is gone. My old knees used to creak like a rusty gate, but now they're much more cooperative after a quick warm-up. It feels silly at first, but not tweaking my shoulder on a lift is worth it.
