My dad swore up and down that a standing desk would fix my back pain
He kept pushing me to get one for years, so I finally caved and bought a cheap one off Amazon for $150. After 3 weeks my hips hurt worse than my back ever did, anyone else find standing desks overrated?

Used to think I was just being lazy about standing desks, but honestly after trying one for a month I totally get what you're saying. My hips and knees started aching in ways my back never did, and I felt like I was just shifting the pain somewhere else. I mean, maybe it works for some people who are already in good shape or have a specific ergonomic setup, but for me it was a waste of money. I ended up going back to my regular desk and just taking breaks to walk around the block instead. Idk, I think the hype around standing desks is mostly just marketing, not a real solution for everyone.

Standing all day definitely isnt the magic fix people make it out to be. My doctor told me the human body just isnt designed to be in one position for hours, whether sitting or standing. Have you found any specific stretch or movement break that actually helps your hips and knees? Ive been trying to do a five minute walk every hour and it seems to help more than the standing desk ever did. Curious if anyone else has landed on something that works better than just switching between the two positions.
