Tried putting my desk facing the window after 5 years of staring at a wall

I was over at a buddy's place last week helping him set up his new home office and he had his desk facing the sliding glass door to his backyard. I laughed at first because I thought you'd get glare all day. But I sat down for a minute and honestly it felt way more open and less like a prison cell. So I rearranged my whole setup yesterday morning and now I keep looking outside instead of at my second monitor. Is this just a novelty thing that wears off or do you guys actually prefer window views? Should I stick with it or go back to wall facing for focus?
