My neighbor Carol was right about getting a standing desk converter
She told me 6 months ago to just buy a $150 converter instead of a whole new desk, and after my back started killing me I finally listened. Anyone else have a cheap fix that actually worked way better than expected?
The $30 under-desk foot rest from IKEA saved my knees way more than I thought it would. I was constantly shifting around trying to get comfortable before I got it. Turns out having your feet flat instead of dangling does a lot for your lower back. It's just a hunk of plastic but it works. I'd say that and a rolled up towel for lumbar support are my two cheap fixes that beat any fancy ergonomic chair I've tried.
You're so right about the dangling feet thing. I used to have my feet barely touching the floor and my lower back would kill me by the end of the day. That little foot rest really does make a difference for something that seems so simple. I grabbed a cheap one from Target and it's been a game changer for my posture too.
