Nobody files the Statement of Information on time anymore, or is it just my county?

Been doing this for about 12 years now, and I swear the last 2 years I've seen more late fees from SOI filings than the first 10 combined. Maybe it's just the clients I get now, but every single one acts surprised that the state wants that form every year. I used to set reminders for folks back in 2018 and they'd actually thank me. Now I send a PDF and they ask if they can just pay me to handle it, which I do, but they still miss the deadline because they don't reply to my email. Had a guy in Reno lose his active status over a $25 late penalty that ballooned into a $150 reinstatement fee. Is everyone else seeing this too, or are my clients just special?

Oh man, tell me about it. It's like people just assume the paperwork fairy will take care of everything these days. I swear half my job now is just nagging grown adults to click one button on a website. The best is when they blow up my phone at 11:59pm on the deadline and act shocked that the state doesn't work on their schedule. Honestly at this point I'm half convinced they think the late fee is just a subscription service.

The 3pm call on the last day is always the person who's been sitting on the form for six weeks, I swear they think the deadline is a suggestion and the state's just waiting for their big moment.
