Just realized the moral tightrope of cash jobs for minor damage
A guy brought in his truck with a scratched bumper last week. He offered cash to fix it without any paperwork, saying his deductible was too high. Part of me wanted to help him out, but I started thinking about liability. What if something went wrong later and he had no proof of repair? I told him I'd do it but with a receipt and basic records. It felt like walking a line between being helpful and covering my own back.
