Can we talk about how long a simple trademark search actually takes?

I spent 4 hours looking up one name on the USPTO database and still found 3 similar ones I missed. How is it this hard to just check if a name is clear?

Totally feel your pain. That USPTO database is a maze and it's so easy to miss similar sounding names or slight variations. Like you can search "sunrise" and totally overlook "sun rays" or "sunny rise" because the system doesn't catch those fuzzy matches. It's honestly wild that there isn't a better tool built in to catch all the close calls.

My cousin once spent a full afternoon searching "kettle" for his brewery name and the USPTO somehow flagged "cauldron" as a match but missed "kettle corn" like it was invisible. That system has some real quirks, I swear.
