Hit 100 countries while working remote - feels weird to complain about
I know most people here aim for a few months in one spot, but I hit 100 countries last month while freelancing. Everyone always says to slow down and actually live somewhere, but idk, I actually like the constant moving. I did 37 countries just last year bouncing between hostels and coworking spaces with a 15 pound backpack. The milestone made me realize I've been doing this for 8 years without really settling anywhere. Has anyone else gone way past what they originally planned for travel numbers?

Ngl, I gotta push back a little here because 100 countries in 8 years sounds more like collecting passport stamps than actually traveling. @taylor.brooke spending two months in Guatemala for the street food is exactly the kind of depth that makes a place stick with you. Honestly you might be missing the whole point of why most of us started this in the first place.

Man, 100 countries is wild. I remember when I first started traveling I thought ten countries would be enough, but there's always one more place calling your name. Still haven't cracked 50 myself, but I did spend two months in a tiny town in Guatemala just because the street food was too good to leave. You ever hit a place where the food just kept you anchored longer than you planned?

People collect things to feel like they're getting somewhere. Stamps on a passport, miles on a car, likes on a post. It's the same reason people binge watch shows instead of savoring them. 100 countries is a number on a list but you probably forgot half of them already.
