Drove through Phoenix last week and every single rental truck place had a line out the door at 7 AM

Saw like 15 people waiting in the heat before the place even opened, is that normal for moving through there or did I just hit some kind of relocation fever dream?

Fair point @dakota_miller93, I always figured those lines meant chaos but you changed my mind on that.

Those lines are actually a good sign believe it or not. Phoenix is one of those cities where if you don't get your truck early you're stuck waiting until noon or later when it's 105 degrees and everyone's miserable. I moved through there two years ago and saw the same thing but it meant the companies were actually prepared for the demand instead of running out of trucks at 10 AM like they do in other places. Plus most of those people probably booked online the night before so they just showed up early to beat the crowd. The heat forces everyone to move fast too so those 15 people will be gone in like 20 minutes once the doors open. Honestly it's way better than showing up at 8 and having to wait three hours for a truck that never comes.

Replying to the "heat makes people move fast" part, that's actually a huge factor people overlook. The rental places know the clock is ticking too, so they staff up early and push trucks through fast before the heat really sets in. And honestly, a long line at 6 AM in Phoenix is way better than a short line at 10 AM when you're sweating through your shirt before you even get the keys.
