That buddy who told me to 'just use PayPal' for business payments cost me $120 in fees last quarter alone
Switched to a proper payment processor after a client in Chicago sent me a $3,000 invoice via PayPal and got hit with $87 in fees. Anyone else get burned by trusting free payment apps for client work?

Went through the exact same thing last year when a client paid me $4,200 through Venmo and I got slapped with a $95 fee. Ngl, I felt like such an idiot for not reading the fine print on those "free" apps. Honestly, they really get you with those sneaky business transaction fees. I learned my lesson real quick.

Yeah that "just use PayPal" advice really aged like milk. I had a client send me $2,500 through PayPal and I got hit with a $73 fee which basically covered my dinner order that night. Nothing like paying for the privilege of getting paid.
