Hit 100 applications in 4 months and only landed 2 real projects

I set a goal to submit 100 freelance proposals by July this year, thinking volume would solve everything. Hit the number in late June and had spent over 40 hours just on applications alone. Out of those, only 2 turned into actual paying work totaling $1,800 combined. Has anyone else tracked their application numbers and gotten a reality check on the conversion rate?

Yeah I gotta be honest, 2 out of 100 is rough but I don't think volume alone is the answer. It's more about who you're pitching to and how tailored your proposals are, not just how many you send out. Quality over quantity really does matter here.
