I chose a second part-time job over draining my savings in the slow months of 2023

After 6 weeks with zero freelance gigs in Portland, I picked inventory shifts at a local hardware store instead of touching my $4,200 emergency fund, and that choice kept me afloat without the panic of watching my buffer shrink, so has anyone else taken a regular paycheck to ride out a dry spell and regret it or not?

Hell yeah, taking the boring pay is almost always smarter than bleeding your cushion dry.

My buddy Dave drained his savings chasing crypto and ended up eating ramen for six months, so yeah, boring pay wins.
