Is writing off meals worth the headache or not? My tax guy just flagged 2 years of my coffee shop receipts.
I always thought grabbing coffee with a client counted as a biz meal but my accountant told me last week the IRS is super strict about 'business purpose' for solo folks. Now I'm wondering if the 50% deduction is even worth tracking every $4 latte vs just skipping it - what's your take?

I heard the IRS actually looks for a specific business purpose on receipts now.

You're telling me, @joseph48. Next thing you know they'll want a signed note from the coffee shop explaining why you bought that latte. Your mileage may vary but I think most of us just write "business meeting" and hope for the best.
