Just realized that ignoring foot pain in the kitchen is a bad move

Ignored a tweaked wrist for weeks until I couldn't hold a knife right. Ended up needing physio for two months instead of taking a few days off early. Now if something feels off, I actually stop and ice it right away, maybe switch to lighter prep work. That stubborn chef culture just wrecks your body over time.

How do you even start to explain that to someone who just sees a pretty ring? Your last line really hit me, @umahenderson. Once you know something, you can't not know it, and staying quiet starts to feel like you're part of the problem. It's so heavy to carry that knowledge when a client is just happy about their new thing. But you're right, the truth has to be theirs to hold too, even if it changes how they see it. Keeping it from them just protects our own comfort, not them.

Skipped the pre-stain step on pine and paid the price

Maybe it's not as big a deal as we make it. People tend to overthink this stuff lol. Hard to see why it's mandatory.

I finally nailed crispy air fryer fries, but my method takes forever.

Actually, soaking is the whole game. That hour pulls out the starch. Wet starch equals steamed fries, not crispy ones. Patting dry only gets the surface water. The inside stays gummy. Tried skipping it once and the texture was totally off. Worth the wait for real crunch.
