The coffee shop that taught me to reset my router on a schedule

I was at this little spot called Brew & Byte in Austin last week, stuck on a video call that kept freezing. The barista mentioned they reboot their wifi router every morning at 7 AM sharp to avoid drop-offs during the rush. I tried it at home the next day and my connection has been way more stable since. Been doing it for about 10 days now, and my laggy calls dropped from like 3 a day to maybe 1 a week. You ever try scheduling router resets or is that just a coffee shop hack?

Oh yeah I read something about this. Apparently routers get overheated and bogged down if you never restart them. It's like clearing your browser history for the whole internet box.

My buddy never touched his router for like two years and then one day his internet just died in the middle of a big work call. He had to buy a whole new one because the fan was caked with dust and the thing just gave up (which is honestly kind of grim for a little plastic box).

Huh never thought about scheduling it. Might set an alarm on my phone and try this out.
