I was dead set against coworking spaces until last Tuesday

Three years ago I swore I'd never pay $200 a month to work in a room full of strangers, but last week I was about to quit freelance writing after a brutal 14 hour day alone in my apartment. My buddy Mike dragged me to a day pass at a spot in downtown Austin for $25, and I finished a project in 4 hours that usually takes me two days. Has anyone else found that paying for a space actually saved them money in the long run?

Paid $25 to save myself from screaming at my cat, best deal ever.

You said "Paid $25 to save myself from screaming at my cat" like that's a win, but honestly I think you just wasted your money and made the problem worse. That money could've gone to a proper training session or a better scratching post or even just some toys to tire the cat out. Now the cat probably just learned that acting up gets you to hand over cash instead of actually fixing the behavior. My neighbor paid for one of those calming collars and her cat just got more anxious and started hiding under the bed all day, so she ended up spending more at the vet anyway. Plus you're basically telling yourself it's okay to avoid dealing with the real issue, which is probably that the cat needs more playtime or a routine change. Sounds like you just bought a bandaid when the cat's gonna keep acting up tomorrow and you'll be right back to wanting to scream.
