Struggling with the ethics of using a competitor's email template I found online.

I came across a template that perfectly fits my needs, but it feels wrong to use it without change. Your mileage may vary, but I feel tweaking it to make it your own is key. It's a gray area I'm still figuring out.

DAE get tired of the sewer repair conspiracy talk on my block?

We had the same issue when they replaced the fire hydrants. A few folks were convinced it was for surveillance. I found asking simple, specific questions worked best, like which company would be installing the spy gear. When they couldn't name one, the theory lost steam pretty quickly.
