Yeah, so my shop's been wrestling with this too. We got this one client who wanted everything voice-controlled, lights, fans, the works. Some of the older guys were ready to walk off the job, saying it's too much trouble. But I saw the bill for that install, and it was no joke, way more than a standard switch swap. Now I'm trying to learn the basics, because even if it's a fad, the money's real good right now. You kinda have to adapt or get left behind, but I get why the old timers are nervous.

Sounds like you and @dylanr51 both learned that lesson the expensive way. Gotta love when someone acts like a verbal deal is solid, then pretends they have amnesia when the bill comes. Now my policy is to hand them the pen with a smile, even if they say their word is their bond.
