Can we talk about how I was using AI to brainstorm all wrong?
I spent months writing these huge, detailed prompts for Midjourney, but the real 'aha' moment came last week when I saw a friend just feed it a single, messy pencil sketch and the AI filled in exactly what he wanted, which made me realize I was overcomplicating everything by trying to describe a picture with a thousand words instead of just showing it one.

It's like trying to explain a song instead of just humming the tune.

You know, it's not always about showing instead of telling. Sometimes a detailed prompt is exactly what you need. If you're trying to get a very specific style or a complex scene, those words are your best tool. A sketch gives the AI the shape, but words give it the soul and the mood. It's about picking the right tool for the job, not one being wrong.

You said words give it the soul and the mood, but that's putting it backwards. The soul has to be in the sketch first, or you're just decorating a hollow shell. A detailed prompt can't fix a weak foundation. If the drawing doesn't have the right feeling, all those style words are just a band-aid. You need both tools, but the drawing has to carry the main weight.
