My $40 air fryer from a garage sale is still going strong 3 years later
I picked up this beat up air fryer at a garage sale for $40 back in 2021. The guy said he used it twice and hated it. I figured it was a gamble but I was tired of heating up my whole kitchen with the oven. It still works perfectly and I use it almost every day for chicken thighs and frozen fries. The only thing I've had to replace was the basket after I dropped it. Anyone else have good luck with a used appliance or did you get burned?

Garage sale air fryers are the best. I found a beat up Cosori at a yard sale for $20 and it still works like a dream three years later. Use it for salmon and brussel sprouts all the time. Dropped the tray once too but it still fits fine. Best $20 I ever spent honestly.

Not sure I totally agree with you @coleman.hannah, and also @the_rowan. I bought a garage sale air fryer once for $15 and it was a total dud. The heating element was weak from the start, chicken thighs took way longer than the recipe said, and the timer kept sticking. Maybe I just got a lemon, but that experience made me swear off used small appliances. The guy could have dropped it or run it on a dirty circuit for all you know. Three years is good run though, so maybe you just lucked into a decent unit that was barely used.

Best $20 I ever spent" - that's exactly what my buddy Mark says about his. He bought a dusty Ninja from a neighbor's moving sale for $25 and it's been running daily for almost 4 years now. The timer knob is a bit loose but it still cooks chicken wings perfectly every time.
