inHad a client in Austin tell me my contract was too "aggressive" because I had a kill fee clause
Kill fees are pretty standard in a lot of creative fields, it's not like you're asking for anything unusual lol. Maybe frame it as protecting both sides from a bad situation rather than expecting failure.

inSwitched from store-bought potting mix to making my own after a disaster with my ferns
Those Boston ferns you lost, were they in a spot that gets direct afternoon light or filtered shade?

inWarning: my "quick" clipper deep clean took me 3 hours yesterday
and honestly @black.oliver this is exactly why i keep a pair of tweezers in my bathroom drawer now, you never know when a tiny screw hole is gonna turn into a whole archaeological dig.

inTried two different fertilizers for my lawn this spring
Bought a bag of the cheap stuff one time and REGRETTED it so bad. The grass came in all yellow and thin, looked like I had a dirt patch with some sad weeds poking through. Meanwhile my buddy used the same brand you mentioned and his lawn looked like a golf course green. I ended up spending twice as much on extra seed and weed killer just to fix my mess. Never again, you get what you pay for with lawn stuff for SURE.

inPro tip: I added a simple 'scope creep' clause to my contracts and it saved me from a $3,000 headache last month.
That heated floor addition is a perfect example of why we need that clause.
