That $15 air fryer liner almost caught my kitchen on fire last night in Austin

Grabbed a cheap silicone liner from a random shop and it started smoking like crazy at 400 degrees. Anyone else had these things melt on them or am I just unlucky?

That $15 liner sounds like it was trying to turn your kitchen into a barbecue pit, lol. I grabbed a cheap one from a random shop once and it started smoking at 350, so you're not alone in this cursed silicone adventure. Probably best to stick with the actual air fryer brand ones or just go foil for now, lmao.

Read somewhere that cheap silicone can have fillers that burn off at lower temps, which explains all the smoke and smell. At least you found out before it actually caught fire.
