Tried making frozen pizza rolls in my air fryer and they exploded everywhere
I threw a bag of frozen pizza rolls in at 400 degrees for 8 minutes like the package said, and half of them burst open and sprayed molten cheese all over the basket. My air fryer now smells like a burned pizza parlor and I spent 20 minutes scrubbing the tray with a sponge. Has anyone figured out a temp or timing hack to keep these things from turning into little cheese grenades?

Oh man, that sucks so bad. I did the exact same thing last week with a bag of those cheap store brand pizza rolls, 400 for 8 minutes just like you. Half of them burst open and there was cheese everywhere, it was like a tiny cheese volcano in my kitchen. I scrubbed that basket for what felt like forever with a sponge and it still smells slightly burnt. What worked for me was dropping the temp to 360 and doing 10 minutes, but shaking the basket halfway through so they dont all stick together and blow up. Might be worth a try but no promises, those little things are still unpredictable.

My buddy Kevin did this same thing with Tostinos pizza rolls. He followed the directions exactly, 400 for 8 minutes, and ended up with a flaming cheese grenade in his air fryer. One of them exploded so hard it shot molten filling all the way up to the top heating element. He had to let the whole thing cool down and scrape burnt cheese off with a toothpick for an hour. The worst part was the smoke alarm went off and his landlord came knocking thinking there was a fire. He won't touch pizza rolls in the air fryer anymore, just throws them in the microwave now and calls it good.
