PSA: Double check your battery contact cleaner labels

Spent 2 hours tracing a no-start on a 737 APU yesterday, finally found it was just corrosion on the battery terminals. A can of regular contact cleaner that looked identical to the battery terminal stuff was all I had, wasted my whole morning. Anyone else mix those up before?

Dude, I swear half the stuff in the hangar is just repackaged Windex with a different sticker.

And @casey342 is not wrong at all, I swear the only difference is the label and the price. I've definitely grabbed a can of regular contact cleaner before thinking it was the battery stuff and ended up with a terminal that still looked like a science experiment gone wrong. It's embarrassing how long I stood there staring at the can wondering why the corrosion wasn't budging. Now I just mark mine with a sharpie so I don't pull the same dumb move again. At least my APU is running now though, that's all that matters haha.

The real trick is the baking soda and water paste, works better than any can stuff I have tried for battery corrosion. Just watch you do not get it on anything else or it will start eating that too.
