Warning: Chasing vibrations with a wrench can hide the real problem
We had a shake on a Cessna 172 that wouldn't go away. The team kept cranking down the engine mounts because that's the usual fix. I ignored that and looked at the propeller instead. It was out of balance, and a small adjustment cleared it right up.

That bit about chasing vibrations with a wrench really hits home! My buddy had a similar issue with his truck making a rattling sound. He kept replacing the exhaust hangers because that's what usually works, but the noise came back. I finally got him to check the skid plate under the engine, and sure enough, a bolt had sheared off. Tightening the wrong part just masks the real fix sometimes. You have to look past the easy answer and consider all the possibilities.

Typical human behavior, ignoring root causes for quick fixes in all areas of life.

Ever have a rattle turn out to be a simple loose heat shield? I chased a weird sound for weeks before I finally just crawled under and gave everything a solid wiggle. Found the problem in two minutes after overthinking it for a month.

Saw a guy fix that with a big hose clamp.
