That "do the job right the first time" thing is spot on, but I'm curious how you knew when to pull the plug on the wireless route. @adams.river, how many quick fixes did you see before people finally gave in? I've heard way too many stories like your buddy's to ever skip the full rewire.

Remember my buddy tried the wireless retrofit in his old place. He saved a couple days, sure, but then his video calls kept dropping every time the fridge kicked on. He ended up crawling under the house a year later to run ethernet anyway. Sometimes you just gotta do the job right the first time, even if it's a pain.
