PSA: I just wired my 500th smoke detector and I'm starting to think the code is wrong

After that many, I'm convinced the 12-foot spacing rule for bedrooms is overkill and just ups the service call rate for false alarms. Has anyone else had a customer zone get less reliable after you maxed out the detectors?

Honestly my microwave beeps so much for no reason I don't even hear it anymore. Same energy.

My car beeps at me for everything now, so I just tune it all out.
