Am I the only one who thought filler episodes were useless until this happened?
I always skipped filler arcs in long anime, thinking they added nothing to the story. Last month, I forced myself to watch all the filler in a show I like, just to test it. Some episodes had funny side stories or quiet moments that made the characters feel more real. I saw how they built up friendships and world details that paid off later. Now, I give fillers a chance and chat online about which ones are worth it. It made me view anime in a new way, like finding hidden gems. I even started a thread ranking the best filler episodes from different series. My friends were shocked when I defended a filler arc they all hated.

Saw a forum thread dissecting One Piece filler. People pointed out the G-8 arc after Skypeia. It added crew bonding without big fights. Made the world feel lived in, not just plot points.

Totally agree with @bell.felix on this! G-8 is top-tier filler! It had those small moments, like the crew trying to blend in on the marine base. That made the world feel real, not just a backdrop for fights. Even the cooking contest with Sanji added to the crew bonding without needing a big villain.

Absolutely @zaranelson, G-8 arc had HEART, not just action.

It's the best filler because it felt like a real adventure, not just something to pass time.
