Just realized my favorite anime discussion forum has gotten way too serious

Last week on AnimeForumX, I tried to start a fun thread about the best filler episodes in Naruto. Three years ago, that would have sparked a bunch of funny memories and maybe some friendly arguing. But now, the first three replies were all long essays about narrative structure and studio production schedules, with one person linking a 40-page academic paper. It feels like you can't just talk about liking or disliking a show anymore without someone treating it like a thesis defense. Has anyone else noticed their usual hangout spot getting way too analytical?

I switched over to a smaller forum for my old school anime rewatches. The rule there is no posts over three sentences about any single episode. It sounds silly, but it forces people to just share the fun moments. Now we actually talk about the show instead of writing a book report.

Honestly, that rule would save me from myself (I'm the queen of the five paragraph post about a single fight scene). My last rewatch comment basically needed a table of contents. Forcing it down to three sentences sounds like a good way to make me actually pick a favorite bit instead of just listing everything.

Honestly that rule sounds genius. Tbh I'm so tired of scrolling through essays in the weekly episode threads. Forces you to actually pick the best bit instead of listing every single scene. Might steal this idea for my own group.
