My sister said something about slice of life anime that made me stop and think

We were talking about our favorite shows last weekend, and she said she used to skip the 'filler' episodes in long series. She told me, 'I realized I was missing the whole point. The quiet moments where characters just talk are what make the big fights matter.' That hit me because I do the same thing, always rushing to the plot. Now I'm rewatching some old favorites like 'Fruits Basket' and paying attention to those slower scenes. It's changing how I enjoy the whole show. Does anyone have a specific 'filler' episode that actually ended up being their favorite?

lol i feel so called out right now. i used to skip all the beach episodes in any anime like my life depended on it. but then i watched that one in 'Bleach' where they're just playing soccer and it's stupidly funny, and it made me like the characters way more. now i'm the weirdo who looks forward to the 'boring' stuff. your sister is totally right, the quiet bits are what make you care when things get crazy later.

That Bleach soccer episode is a perfect example of why filler works.

Man, that Naruto episode where they just try to see Kakashi's face under his mask is still one of the funniest things ever to me. It's literally nothing but the characters being dumb kids for 20 minutes.
