Subs over dubs, but this one show flipped me in 3 episodes

I've been a hardcore sub-only guy since 2018, swore dubs ruined the pacing every time. Then I tried the English dub of that new mecha series last Tuesday and actually caught more character nuance, now I'm questioning my whole stance. Anyone else found a dub that beat the original?

The whole "dub flipped me" thing always cracks me up, cause you were probably just tired that night and the subs felt like work. I've seen this exact story play out a dozen times, and it's almost always about the voice actor being hot or the translation being looser, not actual nuance. You'll be back to trashing dubs by next week, mark my words.
