TIL I was ruining my Attack on Titan rewatch by skipping the OVAs
I used to just binge the main episodes and ignore everything else, but last week I watched the OVA where Levi cleans the squad's tomb and it explains so much about his character. Anyone else think the 3D Maneuver Gear OVAs are lowkey required viewing?

The number 57 sticks in my head from that Levi OVA because it was the exact amount of times I rewound the scene where he pulls out that dirty rag. My buddy laughed at me for getting emotional over a cleaning rag but honestly that whole episode hits different when you realize how much he carries around. The 3D gear stuff is cool but what got me was the whole thing about living in the underground and how he never had a real floor to stand on until Erwin showed up. I actually skipped the OVAs my first run too and went back after finishing season 3 and it completely changed how I saw his fight with Kenny. Feels like the show expects you to know that backstory even though they never force you to watch it.
