Why does nobody talk about how boring 'best girl' debates have gotten?

I was reading a thread about a new romance anime, and every single comment was just arguing over which character was 'best girl' with the same old points. It made me skip the whole discussion because there was zero talk about the story or animation. Has anyone else noticed this trend killing actual conversation?

Totally. The characters just go through the same motions every time. You can guess every line before they say it, and the plot never surprises you. Feels like the writers just copy and paste old scripts, right?
