Customer said my torque readings were off, turns out they were right
Had a guy in Denver call me out on a fridge compressor I'd flagged as seized, said my gauge was lying after I quoted him $600 for a swap. I checked with a cheap clamp meter and the start winding pulled 11 amps fine, so I dug into the relay instead and saved him a big bill. Anyone else had a customer's gut feeling beat your tools?

Gauges don't lie but they only tell you what they're hooked to.
