I finally figured out why my fridge kept icing up

I was at a diner last week and overheard a guy telling his buddy that his fridge's defrost heater was bad. It clicked for me because I'd been fighting frost buildup in my own fridge for months. I went home, checked the heater with my multimeter, and sure enough it was dead. Replaced the part for like 30 bucks and it's been running perfect since. Anyone else ever overlook a simple fix like that and chase ghosts instead?

Ha, I spent like three months yelling at my freezer every time I opened it before I realized it was just the door seal. Felt like a real genius when I figured that one out.
