I swore by hand saws until a backyard job went sideways
Always thought power tools were overkill for residential trees. Then I spent an hour trying to cut through a thick branch while the homeowner's dog kept stealing my gloves. Now I bring the chainsaw for anything bigger than my arm.

Funny how we all get stubborn about our ways until life forces an upgrade. That stubbornness shows up everywhere, not just with tools. Notice how often you stick to an old method just because it's what you know?

Hold up, "stubbornness" is a pretty loaded way to put it. Manually adjusting a thermostat gives you actual control. You feel the room get stuffy, you turn it down. You wake up cold, you nudge it up. Smart thermostats guess, and they guess wrong all the time. It's not about being stuck in your ways, it's about not handing over simple jobs to a dumb machine that'll just mess it up.

My grandma still uses her 1987 microwave because it works, she won't upgrade.
